Meet Lexey Bartlett

Dr. Lexey Bartlett is an Associate Professor of English and Director of the Writing Center at Fort Hays State University. She advises the Rho Psi Chapter and has served as High Plains Regent since 2013. Aside from reading, her hobbies include running and playing the ukulele—but not at the same time.

  1. My favorite movie is Wings of Desire or Fargo—I’m torn.
  2. I never leave the house without a lip balm.
  3. If I had to eat one food for the rest of my life, it would be sushi!
  4. Growing up, I was sure I would be a forest ranger.
  5. I know every word to the song Across the Great Divide,” by Kate Wolf.

  7. My nickname in high school was Lexicon.
  8. If you find me in the kitchen, I’m typically whipping up soup.
  9. I’m more of a reader.
  10. The best paper title I ever created was “Pathological Conceptions: Medical Discourse and Disruptive Rhetoric in Wollstonecraft’s A Vindication of the Rights of Woman.”
  11. The literary place I’d most like to visit is Narnia.
  12. My dream job is being an English professor.

  15. The destination at the top of my travel bucket list is New Zealand.

  19. My favorite place to buy books is Amazon (sadly, there is no bookstore in my town).
  20. In 10 years, I’m betting that the big trend in literature will be Something of Something and Something.
