{"id":1891,"date":"2013-03-19T14:00:27","date_gmt":"2013-03-19T19:00:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.wordybynature.org\/?p=1891"},"modified":"2013-03-19T14:00:27","modified_gmt":"2013-03-19T19:00:27","slug":"popular-culture-and-the-written-word-at-cal-state-fullerton","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.wordybynature.org\/newsite\/popular-culture-and-the-written-word-at-cal-state-fullerton\/","title":{"rendered":"Popular Culture and the Written Word at Cal State Fullerton"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>by Lauren Bailey<br \/>\nPresident, Alpha Delta Zeta chapter<br \/>\nCalifornia State University, Fullerton<\/p>\n<p>Cal State Fullerton held a Far Western regional event this fall under the theme of \u201cPopular Culture and the Written Word.\u201d This event spanned 2 days, with 47 presenters from 8 different campuses at varying academic levels, ranging from undergraduate to graduate, and even faculty. From its very inception this conference was interdisciplinary, allowing members from nearly a dozen different fields to present, as well as spotlighting Brande Jackson and Amy Coplan, two keynote speakers from the American Studies and Philosophy departments.<\/p>\n<p>Attendees of the conference thoroughly enjoyed the event.
