2022 Convention Submission Deadline Extended

The submission deadline for the Sigma Tau Delta 2022 International Convention has been extended to Friday, November 5, at 5 p.m. CDT. Thanks to those who have already submitted. This extension will allow those who experienced an interruption in Monday’s system outage time to submit. Also, we hope this extension will allow a few more to complete the application process to earn a spot on the convention program. Please help us by spreading the word about this new deadline and don’t wait to submit!

We accept three types of proposals—critical essays, creative works, and roundtable abstracts—and also welcome creative or critical works informed by the Common ReaderDear Martin by Nic Stone. Authors of creative and critical pieces must submit the complete work (no more than 2,000 words long) to apply for a place on the convention program. Roundtable submissions require an abstract, bibliography, and list of participants, with preference given to roundtables that include members from more than one chapter. Participants may submit no more than one critical/creative piece, one roundtable submission, and one Common Reader paper.

Important dates:

  • November 5 at 5 p.m. CDT: paper submissions and roundtable proposals due
  • November 16: roundtable decisions announced
  • December 15: paper decisions announced
  • January 4: early / presenter registration opens

What next?

Begin by reading Hints for Success, then review the paper and roundtable submission guidelines carefully. All submissions will be evaluated by a panel of qualified faculty judges, so attention to detail will increase the likelihood of your submission’s acceptance.

Start your submission process now. You may save your work and finalize your paper before making your final submission.

Good luck!
