Meet Ching-Ju Wang

Ching-Ju “Mary” Wang (she/her) is the Eastern Region Associate Student Representative for 2021-2022. She is a student member of the Alpha Upsilon Eta Chapter of Sigma Tau Delta at the University of Toronto Scarborough in Canada. She works at UTSC as a First Year Peer, helping incoming students transition to university life. In her spare time, she enjoys watching movies, listening to music, and breathing in nature.

  3. If I had to eat one food for the rest of my life, it would be sushi.
  4. Growing up, I was sure I would be an author.

  7. My nickname in high school was Gima (an accidental variation of “grandma”).
  8. If you find me in the kitchen, I’m typically whipping up something simple and easy.
  9. I’m more of a reader.

  11. The literary place I’d most like to visit is Diagon Alley.

  13. An author I truly admire is Maya Angelou.
  14. My go-to children’s book is Tales from the Inner City by Shaun Tan.
  15. The destination at the top of my travel bucket list is New York.
  16. My favorite part of being an English Major is meeting people who share the same passion.
  17. The last book I read was Indigo Spell (Bloodlines #3) by Richelle Mead.
  18. My favorite book series is The Kingkiller Chronicle by Patrick Rothfuss.

  20. In 10 years, I’m betting that the big trend in literature will be: more accessible ebooks.

  22. The last book I bought was Dear Martin by Nic Stone (this year’s Common Reader), but I have not yet read it.
