Meet Joshua Stinson

Joshua Stinson is the Sigma Tau Delta Midwestern Student Representative and a member of the Western Illinois University chapter. When not in school, Josh spends a lot of his time playing games, playing his instruments, or spending time out in nature with the Scouts BSA. Josh is an Eagle Scout and spends much of his summers working at a Scouts BSA camp.

  3. If I had to eat one food for the rest of my life, it would be Sesame Chicken.
  4. Growing up, I was sure I would be a teacher.
  5. I know every word to the song The Arrow” by Josh Garrels.
  6. The best gift I’ve ever received was a guitar.
  7. My nickname in high school was Stinz.
  8. If you find me in the kitchen, I’m typically whipping up peanut butter toast.
  9. I’m more of a reader.
  10. The best paper title I ever created was “Divisions in Eternity.”
  11. The literary place I’d most like to visit is Narnia.
  12. My dream job is to be a high school English teacher.
  13. An author I truly admire is C.S. Lewis.
  14. My go-to children’s book is If You Give a Mouse a Cookie by Laura Joffe Numeroff.
  15. The destination at the top of my travel bucket list is Greece.
  16. My favorite part of being an English Major is the books that I get to read that I never would have read without being assigned them!

  18. My favorite book is The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne.
  19. My favorite place to buy books is Books-A-Million.
  20. In 10 years, I’m betting that the big trend in literature will be advanced technology or themes about rediscovering the world after a large event (like, maybe a pandemic?).
  21. My first job was Summer Camp Counselor (Arts and Crafts Area).
  22. The last book I bought was Dear Martin by Nic Stone, and I have read it.
  23. The celebrity I’d most like to spend a day with is Donovan Mitchell.
  24. If I could move anywhere in the world, I’d live in Missouri.
  25. I’m a Hufflepuff.
