Meet Kelly Hayes

Kelly “Albi” Hayes is an English and Secondary Education Major at Franklin Pierce University. They are the President of their school’s Sigma Tau Delta chapter and the Eastern Region Student Representative. At school, they are part of the Gamers Club, Anthropology Club, GSA, and Student Government Association. They enjoy fantasy books, poetry, and video games with fascinating art styles. They like rock and comedy rap music but absolutely cannot dance! Finally, they are naturally gifted with organizational skills.

  2. I never leave the house without the bee key fob that my mom made for me!
  3. If I had to eat one food for the rest of my life, it would be waffles with real maple syrup.
  4. Growing up, I was sure I would be a baker.
  5. I know every word to the song G.I.N.A.S.F.S.” by Fall Out Boy.
  6. The best gift I’ve ever received was the day I once spent with my grandfather when he taught me to catch and skin fish.
  7. My nickname in high school was Albi.
  8. If you find me in the kitchen, I’m typically whipping up crepes or omelets. I can only make breakfast foods.
  9. I’m more of a reader.
  10. The best paper title I ever created was “The Color of Harlots: Chaucer’s Use of Red in The Canterbury Tales.”
  11. The literary place I’d most like to visit is Kepler, WV, from The Adventure Zone.
  12. My dream job is full time author.
  13. An author I truly admire is Alex Gino.
  14. My go-to children’s book is The Breakaways by Cathy G. Johnson.
  15. The destination at the top of my travel bucket list is Ireland.
  16. My favorite part of being an English Major is getting to read all sorts of books that I never expected to read.
  17. The last book I read was My Hero Academia, Vol 7 by Kohei Horikoshi.
  18. My favorite book is Neanderthal Opens the Door to the Universe by Preston Norton.
  19. My favorite bookstore is: I go to the library where books are free!
  20. In 10 years, I’m betting that the big trend in literature will be: I think, and also hope, that comics and graphic novels will be more respected and even be considered classics.
  21. My first job was working at my local library as a page.
  22. The last book I bought was Dear Martin by Nic Stone (this year’s Common Reader), and I have read it.
  23. The celebrity I’d most like to spend a day with is Tori Phantom.
  24. If I could move anywhere in the world, I’d live in Maine.
  25. I’m a muggle.
