Meet Shannin Schroeder

Shannin Schroeder is a professor and director of the Writing Center at Southern Arkansas University and serves as Secretary/Treasurer on the Sigma Tau Delta Board. She teaches world literature and creative writing, and her areas of scholarly interest center around magical realism. She co-authored a YA novel with former Board member Kevin Stemmler, as well as writing a YA novel set in the Frankenstein universe (hence the Outer Hebrides, below, where Victor creates and then destroys his Creature’s mate).

  8. If you find me in the kitchen, I’m typically whipping up: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Oh, bless it, you think I cook.
  9. I’m both a reader and a writer.

  15. The destination at the top of my travel bucket list is New Zealand.
  16. My favorite part of being an English Major is working as part of a community of readers and writers.
  17. The last book I read was Tracks, by Louise Erdrich.

  20. In 10 years, I’m betting that the big trend in literature will be interactive digital graphic novels.
