Meet Skyler Fox

Skyler Fox is the 2021-2022 Sigma Tau Delta Southern Associate Student Representative. Skyler is a senior at Furman University, which is a small liberal arts school in Greenville, SC, where she is a biology and English double major. She has a love for the environment and conservation, and she is currently pursuing research on the population genetics of a federally endangered plant called Dalea foliosa. In her free time, Skyler enjoys exercising, hiking, running, and anything in the outdoors!

  2. I never leave the house without my chapstick.
  3. If I had to eat one food for the rest of my life, it would be sushi.
  4. Growing up, I was sure I would be a vet.
  5. I know every word to the song Goodbye Yellow Brick Road” by Elton John.
  6. The best gift I’ve ever received was my two cats, Fred and George!
  7. My nickname in high school was Sky.
  8. If you find me in the kitchen, I’m typically whipping up avocado toast.
  9. I’m more of a reader than a writer.
  10. The best paper title I ever created was “The American Bitch Goddess.”
  11. The literary place I’d most like to visit is the West Yorkshire Moors (from Wuthering Heights).
  12. My dream job is to be a biology professor at a university.
  13. An author I truly admire is Stephen King.
  14. My go-to children’s book is Goodnight Moon by Margaret Wise Brown.
  15. The destination at the top of my travel bucket list is Australia.
  16. My favorite part of being an English Major is discussing literature with my peers.
  17. The last book I read was Misery by Stephen King.
  18. My favorite book series is Harry Potter.
  19. My favorite place to buy books is McKay’s.
  20. In 10 years, I’m betting that the big trend in literature will be post-apocalyptic.
  21. My first job was cashier at Zaxby’s.
  22. The last book I bought was Odd Thomas by Dean Koontz, but I have not yet read it.
  23. The celebrity I’d most like to spend a day with is Harrison Ford.
  24. If I could move anywhere in the world, I’d live in Colorado or Utah.
  25. I’m a Hufflepuff.
