Terry Phelps has sponsored the Omega Phi Chapter of Sigma Tau Delta for 35 years. He’s been a member since 1966 and is currently the Officer at Large on the Society Board of Directors. He loves learning and has audited numerous classes at Oklahoma City University, including art, music, botany, history, criminology, film, and world religions. He’s taught courses in creative writing (fiction, non-fiction, script writing, legal writing, business writing, grammar, and fine arts. He paints, draws, water-colors, performs voice and guitar weekly at restaurants, races bicycles, plays tennis, and swims. He has written screenplays, short stories, poetry, and several songs, as well as the grammar book Grammar Upside Down. He’s written and directed a musical. He has taught for 48 years.

  7. My nickname in high school was: No nickname that I know of.
  8. If you find me in the kitchen, I’m typically whipping up a hot tea or German chocolate cake.
  9. I’m both a reader and a writer.
  10. The best paper title I ever created was “Lost.”Library of Congress
  11. The literary place I’d most like to visit is the Library of Congress.
  12. My dream job is university professor.

  14. My go-to children’s book is Mr. Messy, by Roger Hargreaves.
  15. The destination at the top of my travel bucket list is South America.
  16. My favorite part of being an English Major is writing.
  17. The last book I read was Hostile Witness, by Rebecca Forster.

  19. My favorite place to buy books is Full Circle Bookstore in Oklahoma City.
  20. In 10 years, I’m betting that the big trend in literature will be historical fiction.
  21. My first job was as a paperboy.
  22. The last book I bought was Last Day, by Luanne Rice, but I have not yet read it.
  23. The celebrity I’d most like to spend a day with is Bill Gates.
  24. If I could move anywhere in the world, I’d live in New Zealand!
  25. I’m a muggle.
